2021 Yarmouth Farmers Market Relocates and Extends Season
Market to run Thursday, May 6th - Thursday, October 28th 3pm-6pm
Yarmouth, Maine - The Yarmouth Farmers Market will return for a seventh season on May 6th in a new location at 1 Railroad Square. The Bickford Pavilion, which is just 100 yards east of the previous location at 317 Main Community Music Center is an excellent fit for the market because it provides shelter from the elements and off street parking.
“Our family built the pavilion as a place for the community to gather in the heart of our village, said Tamson Bickford Hamrock. “It’s really the perfect location for the town’s farmers market.”
The longstanding relationship with the music center will continue. 317 Main staff will schedule and oversee the weekly musical line up which will feature 317 Teaching Artists, student groups and campers.
“We’re delighted to continue our partnership with the market,” said John Williams, 317 Main’s Executive Director. “While we’ll really miss having the market at 317 Main, the move is a great alternative to accommodate the planned construction start of a major expansion at the community music center.”
Attendance at the market has grown every year and in 2020 the pandemic brought in many new customers who appreciated being able to shop in an open air environment. “Because the virus is still in our midst, we expect growth to continue in 2021 and our vendors look forward to being a trusted source of safe, fresh, locally grown food,” said Market Manager Amy Sinclair. Because of the strong demand, the market will start a month earlier than in past years operating for 26 Thursdays from May 6th through October 28th.
Like last year, the market will adhere to Covid protocols including requiring masking and social distancing. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the market and vendors
ask that customers use credit cards rather than cash when possible to reduce risk of virus transmission.
